Responsibilities & Qualifications

Position Summary

The Account Executive will be responsible for acquiring new customers for the MIP Accounting software solutions in his or her assigned territory.  

 

A Day in the Life

  • Meet all goals and objectives to meet or exceed quota. Maximize revenue through direct sales to designated accounts.
  • Understand and accurately communicate the philosophies, policy procedures, programs and product offerings both internally and externally.
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of the value, uses, features and capabilities of the products the company markets, which include all upgrades, maintenance releases, and new product launches and their effect upon our product’s value to the market.
  • Proactively initiate outbound calls to sell new products, marketing campaigns and programs. Be available to accurately answer questions and make suggestions to ensure that the needs of the account are met. This includes but is not limited to, providing answers to pre-sales product questions, providing advice and guidance when exceptional or difficult situations arise and communicating & clarifying programs.
  • Consult with prospects/consultants when needed to increase transactional revenue.
  • Responsible for building alliances: consultants, third-party solutions and other partners to increase sales.
  • Represent the company at trade shows, seminars, road tours or other public functions when necessary and appropriate.
  • Assist in preparation and delivery of sales meeting presentation, offering suggestions and comments related to sales teams’ goals.
  • Manage full sales cycle with prospective and current customers.
  • Follow up with prospects, generate quotes, respond to RFP and provide product demonstrations as needed.
  • Close sale with prospects.
  • Coordinate with client and staff in developing timeline for software installation and implementation.
  • Communicate with end-users to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Keep management informed of sales problems, production status, etc.

We are looking for someone who brings

  • 2+ years’ experience with consultative software sales, with proven and measurable sales performance, skills and training required.
  • Good knowledge of financial management issues encountered by nonprofit organizations including accounting, fundraising and human resources.
    Superior communication and presentation skills, both written and oral.
  • Digitally savvy. Computer literacy of Microsoft Office products as well as proficient in managing multiple social media networks.
  • Strong organizational and forecasting skills.
  • Knowledge of Mid-Market Accounting software is a plus
  • Salesforce.com knowledge
  • Up to 20% travel required
